ProjetMILL is making a transitionary use of an industrial-era spaces near Mill street by retransforming it into a space for culture, arts, and learning about Montreal's industrial heritage and the Lachine Canal.

ProjetMILL is as a non-for-profit initiated to support and ignite excitement surrounding ExpoMILL, a pop-up exhibition showcasing industrial machinery and local artists.

Its mission? To draw people to the heart and debutes of the Lachine Canal, unveiling a hidden gem at Mill street, known previously as the Hydrolic Lots. ProjetMILL aims to captivate diverse demographics, breathing new life into this central and obsolete site, including Silo no5 and Farine 5 Roses.

With the 200th anniversary of the canal approaching, this summer we aim to raise awareness, host engaging events, and revitalize the site. Through our financial campaign, we plan to open a café and bar next summer, providing a welcoming space for people to relax and enjoy our exhibitions.

In the future, this space is poised for a permanant transformation. It will be home to the Centre Historique d'Interprétation Industrielle de Montréal (CHIIM). ProjetMILL serves as the vibrant prologue to an exciting destiny, where history and innovation converge to shape a dynamic urban landscape.

If you are arriving by car and have limited mobility, there is the possibility of a drop-off on site and a valet service. Unfortunatly, there are stairs to enter. Please contact us if you need assistance.

The Founding team

With the support of the Jeunes volontaires Program (Government of Québec), Jules and Andrea are embarking on a transformative journey to revitalize a cultural and historical space at 785 rue Mill, in Montréal (Québec), a once-thriving industrial building now in disrepair.

Jules, with a background in engineering and architecture, is enthusiastic about exploring new horizons in sustainable construction, historic preservation, and sustainable solutions research. Similarly, Andrea, a classically trained musician, is passionate about culturally relevant artistic creations and community engagement, aspiring to cultivate environments that celebrate our musical heritage.

Guiding our team through this endeavor is G. Scott MacLeod, our esteemed mentor for the Jeunes volontaires bursary. Scott, recognized for his multidisciplinary artistic contributions, brings invaluable expertise and guidance to support Jules and Andrea as they navigate this learning experience.

Together, with Scott's mentorship and their dedication to learning and growth, Jules and Andrea are poised to make meaningful contributions to the revitalization of 785 rue Mill and the surrounding community.
