Together, the Doak brothers first embarked on an unconventional journey after quickly shifting gears from their academic path, they then ventured into the realms of industrial machinery resale and real estate, founding MachineCo. Nestled in the historic neighborhood of Pointe-Saint-Charles for the past 35 years, Robin and John's warehouses have become vibrant hubs for artists and crafters, fostering creativity and collaboration.

Throughout his endeavors, they have maintained a steadfast sense of curiosity and humor, guiding them through life's twists and turns. This spirit culminates in their passion project and societal contribution: the creation of the Centre Historique d'Interprétation Industrielle de Montréal (CHIIM), at 785 rue Mill. This upcoming museum will be a testament to industrial history, honoring Montréal's rich heritage and serving as a beacon of education and inspiration for generations to come.
